We head to the second largest protected area in South Africa after the Kruger National Park, to explore, by foot, 4x4, kayaks & ocean explorers.
Our gurus have curated this trip to highlight the jewels of this part of KZN, educate and give a good dose of adventure – “This is a must for any nature and adventure lover.”
We depart from Richards Bay Airport and head towards Mozambique along the East Coast of South Africa, to find ourselves in the small town of St Lucia on the Southern Tip of the Wetlands; a boat cruise will introduce us to the magic of the lakes and give the opportunity to spot some hippos and crocodiles amongst many other species of birds and mammals.
From here we venture further into the wetland park with an informative visit to the Museum of Marine Evolution, a walk along the beach and a horse ride at sunset to see the area from a different vantage point.
We make our way inland to find some of Africa’s other land-based wildlife and an enchanted forest walk.
After some time in the bush we set off on an ocean exploration to seek out whales and other ocean wildlife.
Once done with the excitement of the open ocean we head off to Lake Sibaya for a relaxing and picturesque kayak excursion to spot some local birdlife.
Now as we come close to the end of this adventure, we head up to the boarder of Mozambique to the small town of Kozi Bay, where we will spend some time learning about some ancient fishing techniques, 4x4 dune exploring and some down time before we head home.
